THREE SIBLINGS... A REBEL, A PRINCE, A PRISONER

The sun's light shines bright over the land of Zapour, and only a select few can harness its power. But all power comes with a cost, and the world is not kind to those who refuse to pay it.

Raiz Glaive, a strong shine wielder, was born into royalty, though even royals have to answer to someone. When the King-Radiant sends one of his precious underlings to the Kingdom of Trost, Raiz quickly learns who holds the true power in the realm. After his sister is taken prisoner simply for having the violet eyes of a mystic, Raiz swears vengeance. But when an unwilling father stands in his way, Raiz promises to take revenge into his own hands.

Dazen Glaive remains heir to the throne of Trost, and a sworn defender of the King-Radiant, but he has not forgotten what happened to his sister, and will not forgive their cruelty.

Forced to be the centrepiece of her "master's" twisted human art gallery, Isha remains a prisoner. Though she has not lost hope. Finding friends among fellow captives, she begins to formulate a plan for escape. Though what she discovers has a much more sinister bearing on the fate of all of Zapour.

My thoughts:

Okay, I don't know where to start because I had so much fun reading that book!

So *takes a deep breath* step by step – A King's Radiance is the first book of the Bonds of Kin series by L.R. Schulz.

A wonderful story about found family, revenge and so much more.

Isha is a child when one of The King-Radiant's Eagles takes her as his hostage to the capital Lumindal , scarring and shaping not only her life but those of her two brothers, Dazen and Raiz as well.

Powerless to do anything to prevent Isha's fate, the family is fractured and cope in their own way for years. Only Raiz never losses hope of saving her sister and will go to any lengths to see her safely home. But his already complicated and hard mission snowballs into something bigger, with the freedom of all kingdoms from the King-Radiant's and his Eagles tyranny at stake.

The captivating story is followed by three POVs - Dazen,Isha and Raiz. The three children of Kron - the ruler of Trost.

Their sibling relationship, love and everything they went through was heartwarming to follow and the way they learned from each other and made their characters change and grow was wonderfully made.

To be honest, Raiz was my favorite character – always diving head first with feverish passion for what he believes and loves. And I think that quote sums the best his a bit reckless passionate character 😄👌

“You are a fool, Raiz, did your father ever tell you that?” “Many times,”

And wait until you meet his sidekick Spike! Absolutely in love with him!

Isha on the other hand was the bravest and strongest character in a silent way – never giving up on hope no matter the circumstances and always fighting to survive and for justice. And there is a quote that describes her the best :

“While I yet draw breath, there is always something I can do. I just need time to think.”

As for Dazen I greatly enjoyed his arc and finding his own worth that all around him can already see.

All the characters are so well-made that they stay with you well after you finished, and not only the main characters! You can't help but fall in love with the other characters too - Draz especially made me laugh so many times😄👌 So I KNOW when I continue their journey in The Sun Prince it'll be like returning to old friends.

Strongly recommend, and I can't wait when The Sun Prince comes out on October 2!
