My thoughts:
I breezed through this hook like an addict and loved every second of it! A dystopian world where angels are merciless killers and the most dangerous threat to humans, who are caught in a war between the angels and the dangers stalking them in the darkness.
Amara is a human soldier working for the Angel Intelligence Agency, and when her boyfriend disappears, she'll do everything to find him and bring him back, even if it means siding with a mortal enemy in the face of Nathaniel. But her mission to find Jeremy shifts her entire world, making her question everything she believed.
I absolutely adored Amara's character, with her deep-seated loyalty not only to her beloved but also to her team, even if it means facing death together. Stubborn but not childish, with the heart of a warrior—even if she is only human surrounded by monsters.
The way Nathaniel was portrayed was spot on, with that humming alien vibe that never let you forget he is an angel, and the way his character gradually became more human-like was the most fascinating thing to witness.
THAT ending both shattered my heart and, at the same time, dropped the bomb, making me want to read book two ASAP!
