My thoughts:
All I can say is, when is book 2 coming?!?!
I was absolutely addicted to this book from the very first page and couldn't put it down until 5am 😂🙈📚.
Finn is a hardworking maid in a court filled with scheming and intrigue. Her dangerous secret and haunted past, which brought her to where she is now, won't stay hidden for long.
When King Mordric learns she is the last witch in the kingdom, he offers her an enticing seat on his council... but only if she can master her craft in time. Soon, she realises it was too good to be true, and nothing is as it seems, taking her on a wild journey of secrets, training, and dangerous scheming.
We enjoy every moment through Finn's perspective, and the writing style is so effortless and enchanting that you breeze through the pages while also experiencing intricate magic and surroundings, living through it rather than just reading about it.
The emotional depth is handled beautifully, with all their feelings and a natural, steady gradation of push and pull, which just made me giddy.
Not to mention how many times this book made me giggle like a schoolgirl with its banter and chemistry.
The absolute MVP, who won my heart from the start, was Enhart.
His character practically oozed arrogance, but beneath that was wisdom and cunning, and the combination of him and Finn just stole the show.
Absolutely adored this book!
